Arcade of systems

The studio focuses on understanding building systems through the lens of tectonic and stereotomy elements, along with the concept of the hearth. This process is explored by studying the different layers of these systems and analyzing them through selected case studies. The key learning for me was the breakdown of each layer into micro-level details, where every element tells its own story. The idea of celebrating the materiality of stone and steel, especially through details and joinery, enhanced my understanding of building systems. These learnings were then smoothly carried forward and applied in designing a spatial experience through the proposed Archive Center in Mandu. Inspired by the social fabric of Mandu, the design aims to create a system that provides a meaningful experience for its users.
