The Asarwa region in Ahmedabad is home to the Patni Vaghri Devipoojak community- a Scheduled Tribe as recognised by the Govt. of India, the community has a rich tradition of music and dance but remains in abject poverty owing to the structure of class and caste that suppresses them.
The objective of this initiative is, thus, to create economical spaces and provide the community with a platform for promoting their art and by doing so, use music and dance as an instrument for social change, and save the "at risk youth" through creative engagement.
