Pragati Shilpgram - A manifesto for Equity

The studio explored the transformative potential of design. Following a process of documentation and mapping, for a given context and condition, and leading on to a design intervention as a final output. The idea was to explore how architectural interventions can transform aspects of the human conditions.
Among the chawls of Chamanpura Village in Asarwa, the lower caste and Dalit Group- Patni Vaaghris can be spotted, a scheduled tribe community found in states of Gujarat. They are Devi-pujak's, worshipping their kul-devi's in their crawls demarcated by compound walls. The manifesto is a call for their buried talent.
