With the emergence of Sabarmati riverfront development project, did the old city get contained or the river itself? Was the physical and emotional connect to the river lost due to the dead spaces of concrete along the river? Site located in the historic old city of Ahmedabad, a 3 km stretch from Shahpur to Khanpur, where the only surviving Fort Wall still stands tall, urban inserts that could weave the fabric at three levels, when seen in cross section, could heal the existing fabric and generate a connect of the people to the river to enhance public interaction.
