Blocks in Dialogue: A Communal Museum

This city museum of Ahmedabad is a dynamic cultural space that explores the city’s rich history through sculpture, painting, and photography. Conceived as a journey through time, the museum’s design is inspired by the concept of fragments, with exhibition galleries arranged as separate blocks, each representing different periods. A central street connects these blocks, creating a sense of a community space that echoes the gathering essence of Sarkhej Roza. This street is a place of interaction, lined with transitional spaces that enhance the sense of discovery. The museum’s upper level transforms into an open park, offering freedom and leisure.
