The design of the Textile Museum in Ahmedabad takes inspiration from the Beyeler Foundation by Renzo Piano, known for its serene spatial composition—linear gallery volumes separated by gardens, allowing art, light, and landscape to coexist without hierarchy. Translating that idea, the textile museum is organized as a series of long, parallel volumes creating a rhythm of built and unbuilt. The form encourages slow, lateral movement, where visitors meander through galleries, pause in quiet outdoor rooms, and experience textiles. The spatial layering and fragmented walls extend beyond enclosure, suggesting that the museum is part of an ongoing and unfinished narrative.
