This project begins with a locally adaptable approach, meticulously examining and addressing the unhygienic methods of street vending and waste accumulation near the nearby railway station. After thorough analysis and observation, the concept of Rozana Bazaar emerged as a solution to provide a designated space for various street vendors, particularly considering the sunny weather prevalent in Gujarat. The idea is to establish a covered marketplace beneath the bridge, offering shade and necessary amenities for vendors. Additionally, to ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the market, a recycling hub is proposed adjacent to the market. At the end of each day, vendors can dispose their waste at this hub and receive compensation in return. Moreover, residents from the locality can also deposit their daily waste here. This comprehensive approach aims not only to improve the vendors’ livelihoods but also to foster cleanliness and hygiene throughout the locality, thereby enriching the community under the flyover project.
