ABHAYAM VASAHAT

As Ahmedabad continues to urbanize rapidly, the number of labor colonies in the city has increased significantly. These colonies primarily house migrant workers—a floating population whose demographics are constantly shifting. This transient nature, combined with deep-rooted social and cultural differences, creates a complex and evolving fabric that challenges conventional approaches to housing.
The project investigates how frequent migration, diverse cultural backgrounds, and unstable living conditions shape the lifestyles of laborers in temporary settlements. The goal is to develop adaptable, inclusive housing models that respond to this instability keeping user engagement as a priority.
