A SEASONAL JOURNAL

River Vishwamitri being a seasonal river, renders seasonal shifts in a year. The attributes in which stark variations are bold are the water level and the vegetation along the river. The pre-monsoon, monsoon and the post monsoon tailor these facets in such a manner that the some of the components display alterations whereas some remain constant. Here these constants and variants are brought into play as a potential setting to interpret along the banks of Vishwamitri through visual and tangible experiences. A walk along the different trails in the site narrates one the story of the river in the way oneself takes. These seasonal changes mold distinct setting in different periods hence making the narrative dynamic throughout the year. The project is all about interpretation of river Vishwamitri through different trails along the site. The varying vegetation and land form along the river is the focal point which takes varying forms seasonally thus giving the site different phases at different times. The trails change its quality from being dry in pre-monsoon to being marshy in monsoon. The pathways are designed in such a way that one experiences the stark contrast or smooth blending between the riparian vegetation, scrub land, teak forest and agricultural fields. One could experience different volumes of the same space at different seasons due to the seasonal variation.
