The Forest that follows

Wet Evergreen forest, Southern Western Ghats | Cullenia-Mesua- Palaquim Series | Periyar National Park

The study attempts to identify points of disruption and continuity of forests outside the boundaries of Periyar National Park (Southern Western Ghats) which helped identify instances of old evergreen forests and lands that could potentially have been forests but are now majorly plantations and settlements. The journey portrayed, makes evident the contrasts in landscape yet similarities which indicate that the forest continues through its remnants. These reminders are examples of cohabitation undiscovered, unacknowledged, that allows one to extend the memory of the forest beyond its boundaries. So is the forest within our neighbourhood or is our neighbourhood within the forest?
