The project was to design a 9mx9mx9m Reading Box, in the context of the Old City of Ahmedabad which has rich historical significance. The task was to keep in mind this context and attempt to respond to the climate as well. My design focused on promoting interaction on the lower level of the building, which would also provide a refuge for the people whiling away their time on the streets. As reading is more of a solitary affair, the upper levels provide individual spaces for people to read in.
