The Reading Box

They say books are our best friends, so what’s better than having a space where you and your best friend can spend as much time as you want. The reading box is one such place where you can make this happen. A perfect space for reading is the one which has sufficient amount of light and ventilation. I believe that making a space which gives the experience of openness in a tightly packed place will attract people towards it to come and read there. The building is divided into three levels with increasing privacy as one moves upwards.

Concept

The surroundings of the reading box.

This space intends to be a gathering space where a group of people can sit together and discuss about the world affairs. During the night the space can also be transformed into an amphitheatre where small programmes can be held.

In order to give life to the building, elements like bridges and fenestrations are used which connect all the 3 levels hence creating a sense of interaction. The space will have partitions which will give an individual the feeling of privacy.

It has no enclosures and one can look through the building from all the sides.
