The Idea ‘Building as an Ecosystem' The urban fabric is getting denser and taller, Architects need to think about how to integrate farming into the built fabric. Farming itself is an integral part of our species from ages. Today we have indulged into so many activities of science and technology and involved in multidisciplinary activities and the buildings we build are catering to our multidisciplinary activities. If we start looking at farming as an Urban discipline, the ideology of farming will change. Once the farming enters the Urban fabric it has to be integrated with all the activities of the Urban culture. A notion of dedicated farmland for Agriculture will change. The amount of food that is produced in 4-6 Acres of land can be grown in 1 acre. The building will become the three-dimensional landforms (Space) for farming activities. The idea of farming and farmers will change and farming will become an Urban activity, Once this notion is changed we need to create and build environments to accommodate these kinds of activities. The cities and buildings need to start adapting to the requirements of the new activities.
