ENHANCING THE LIFE OF THE PLACE: A WATER PAVILION

There are many such places that we feel are devoid of life. The project aims at enhancing one such place. It is located in a semi-arid climate of Ahmedabad and a developing area in Science city. The idea of the water pavilion was shaped keeping in mind the original contours of the site. Water is received, acknowledged and offered back to the earth. The central water tank is cocooned by the built pavilion on one side and garden on the other. A hugging gesture of the pavilion towards the water tank creates an introverted space and becomes the guardian of the water stored within. Ahmedabad has monsoon for 3 months, hence rest of the months the tank acts as an open built for kids to play and enjoy.
