Assimilate | Maker's Space

The act of fully immersing oneself in a task for a specific period can be likened to a meditative experience. This concept revolves around the idea of becoming “absorbed” in an activity and, in turn, in a space, or vice versa.

This typology is designed to merge the sense of creative freedom typically found in a studio with the individual autonomy often associated with a library. It aims to provide a versatile environment that caters to a wide range of activities, offering the opportunity for deep concentration and focus in a dynamic, flexible space.
At the site level, a deliberate flow is created to attract a diverse audience. Through the strategic use of movement and hierarchy, it enables the establishment of varying degrees of absorption as one progresses through the structure. This is achieved by reducing the proximity of walls as one ascends, resulting in tighter movement and more intimate spaces.
