The studio explores the deeper dimensions of design, focusing on its social, cultural, and contextual importance. Through a series of exercises, students examine these aspects, culminating in a final project set in Kapadwanj—a site celebrated for its rich cultural heritage. The Kapadwanj Project in Gujarat envisions an institute incorporating workshops, a library, a research center and a public toilet. The design thoughtfully addresses the site’s contrasting edges: one adjacent to the Kund and the other along a bustling street.
