The project entails creating an elder housing community nestled within the historic confines of Ahmedabad's old city. Comprising 40 residential units, the design draws inspiration from the traditional pol house culture and beliefs of the region. It seeks to provide a space where elderly individuals can connect, reminisce, and thrive in an environment tailored for their well-being. Taking cues from the otlas (verandas) found in the pols and the narrow streets, the layout incorporates a continuous ramp that meanders outside the residences, facilitating seamless circulation and fostering a sense of community among the residents.
