Mahila Griha Udyog is a women’s cooperative in the Old City of Ahmedabad. The co-operative is established to foster gender equality and economic independence of women. It offers a unique blend of residence and workspaces, empowering women to produce their goods collectively and independently. The building facilitates affordable housing, dedicated workspaces for various professions and retail space to sell goods made in-house. The building provides multiple choices at unit level according to space required by different user groups and easily accessible community spaces at various levels promoting interaction within the community.
