Living Threads – Spaces of Culture and Life

This housing project in Khanpur, Ahmedabad, aims to provide better living conditions for small business families moving out of dense pol houses while retaining their social and cultural connections to the old city. The design offers flexible units ranging from 2 to 3 BHK, with personal balconies, community courtyards, and shared spaces at various scales. The layout responds to the challenges of narrow roads, limited access, and high density, while promoting walkability, interaction, and a sense of belonging. The proposal integrates small business support, play areas, and social zones, creating a layered, community-driven urban living environment.
