Catalytic Collisions

In the context of a layered urban settlement such as Ahmedabad, the future- facing Academic Village must be a nucleus to the city. This core will act as a catalyst that guides urban growth, social change and holistic development. With a diverse, transient young population there is a need to strengthen the ‘third culture identity’. By unifying fragmented systems of learning and living. the campus becomes socially and environmentally resilient. This Academic village would then become an adaptive threshold between the learner and the world.

The Academic Core is designed to be the nucleus to the Institutional campus. The core forms an intersection point for the movement across the different catalysts. The design further allows increased productive collisions by means of circulation and pause points. These collision points act as catalysts enabling a plethora of opportunities for students to interact and increase peripheral learning.
