Integrating Porosity

Integrating porosity has multiple meanings in this project- One looking at the region, the massive open spaces in university area acts like a porous public space amidst the dense concrete fabric of the city; porosity here also refers to the natural greens and water bodies, which are the main porous systems that are integrated in the urban landscape to manage urban stormwater. The key idea is to connect these fragmented landscapes into a contiguous green corridor aligning to the vision of the master plan. The four key principles- PROTECT, STORE, DELAY, RELEASE of sponge city are used to design this micro ecosystem, improving the livability and curating an experience for the citizens. The design intends to Provide intangible benefits to the region.
