The Benaras Hindu University- a town in itself, planned to self sustain all the people living inside the campus. With work and activities happening all around the campus all through the day, afternoons are the time when the students come back to their hostels to rest and chill. After tiring days of classes the students need some amount of time off studies, enjoy their social time, some sports or maybe just have a chai session with their buddies gossiping about everything that happened that day. The student centre brings all these activities together and tends to merge with the hostels. The students centre lined along the roofs of the hostels with entrances placed at the gaps between the the hostels. The entrance is lifted off the ground, supported by the hostels on both sides. This signifies the interdependence between the students , their activities and the hostels. Both exist because of the other.
