AR2047

Terrabotics

This project envisions a collaborative makerspace combining robotics and ceramics production, blending traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology. Designed for a hybrid profession—a robotics engineer and ceramist—it explores the potential of robotics in creating intricate ceramic products ranging from large scale sculptures to tiles and tableware.
Explorations in forms are done to translate the formal qualities of the objects into functional spaces to accommodate the programs required by the profession. The large volumes formed by the intersection of parts encourages collaboration, with robots handling repetitive tasks, allowing humans to concentrate on creativity and guidance within a safer working environment. The project focuses on the transformation of the compositional qualities from architectural scale to furniture scale.
