Between the Eternal and the Ephemeral

In the city of Bijapur, the senescent Taj Baudi water tank and a youthful, energetic river exist as contrasting entities, oblivious to each other’s presence. This project envisions a dialogue between these two forces—one strict, timeless, and consolidated, the other carefree, fluid, and ever-changing. The architecture becomes the medium, the space of interaction, transforming into a conversation between the archaic and the childlike. It explores the interplay of maturity and curiosity, creating a threshold that bridges past and present. Programmatically, it houses a hammam, a library, and a meeting space, fostering moments of reflection, learning, and connection within this dialogue.
