The project emerges from two primary concern about housing projects; The homogeneity of houses at the unit level. The heterogeneity of housing at the site level.
There exists a predominant distinction between the sizes of houses present in a project, leading to a dominant visual heterogeneity among them. On the other hand, houses themselves have become homogenous, as the standardised model of the 'BHK' dominates; all layouts are a shuffled puzzle of 'rooms'.
The following project tries to address these concerns and proposes ways of looking at the 'affordance' of spaces in housing projects.
