Cities can be related to “Forts”, A place that protects as a shell. It stands strong with all the robustness taking all the pain to protect what is inside. Yet Inside there is a life in its finest grain, a world of vibrancy. Today, Why do our apartments turn their back towards the corridor ? Why do our corridors sit empty, impersonal ? Why do our homes shut the very life that should connect us ? Why cant our corridors breathe the same way as our streets?
Forti - City is an attempt for the same !

Forti - City : Introduction

Forti - City : Streets connecting the Units together being the central spine. Each Unit entered through an intertitial space, Otla. Imagine walking in the streets with clothes hanging, old people chatting, vendors at the doorstep.

Forti - City: The contrasting character of inside and outside.

Forti - City: The inner core eaten up by the activities of people. yet the outer shell "robust" protecting what is inside. The ground greets with an alley of markets and bazaars flowing up to the floors through streets and further to the terrace acting as a stage to celebrate.
