Located in the walled city of Ahmadabad, founded by Sultan Ahmad Shah in the 15th century, on the eastern bank of the Sabarmati river, Sardar Bagh presents a rich architectural heritage. 
The site context is rich as it consists of large public utility services such as Landmarks and Historical Places, AMTS Bus stop,  institutes, recreational spaces along the dominant residential area. The intent for Sardar Baug is to be an undulating natural habitat that can accommodate a wide range of activities. In the centre of the city, heritage buildings are incorporated and serve as gathering places for celebrations and memories. There is an exploration of thresholds and resurrecting long-forgotten identities.
