A Place for Prayer

The project is ideated as a hermetic mountain carved by the moving sun. The southern faces appear like a solid wall comprised of individual prayer cells that receive the movement of the sun. The northern face is carved out by a ramp that takes the users away from the material world towards the threshold of the main prayer space. The central court, with soft northern light and shaded from the south is a space for informal ways of prayer such as discussions, readings and ambulation The wash of Light or shadow on the surfaces of the walls act as the focal point for ones prayer. The dynamic movement of these shadows create an image which
