Kala Prakash - "Illumination of Art"

Atelier Kala Prakash is a heritage-sensitive initiative within Kaba Gandhi No Delo, where young Gandhi was profoundly influenced by traditional folk tales that shaped his values of truth and service.Dedicated to preserving Gujarat’s folk theatre and dance, the atelier focuses on crafting traditional costumes and props. Guided by Gandhi’s principles of Sarvodaya and Trusteeship, it promotes cultural continuity, dignity of labour, and artisan livelihoods. Natural daylight enhances the workspace’s authenticity and aligns with sustainable values, while carefully integrated artificial lighting ensures precision and vibrancy in craft-making—honouring tradition while supporting contemporary craftsmanship and responsible conservation of the historic structure.
