KUMBH I Echoes of Earth and Light

KUMBH is a pottery and terracotta studio proposed at Kaba Gandhi No Delo, Rajkot, envisioned as a space where tradition meets contemporary craft. Rooted in Gandhian ideals and Rajkot’s cultural ethos, it brings together artists, children, and the community through hands-on clay work. The studio supports processes from wheel-throwing to glazing and firing, with light playing a vital role in shaping the atmosphere. Light is treated as a material framing movement, revealing texture, and enhancing the earthy quality of clay. Daylight and shadow shape the experience by day, while precise artificial lighting supports making, showcasing, and quiet reflection.
