Gateway to Getaway

"Gateway to Getaway" is a transformative urban design initiative focused on revitalizing industrial streets within Ahmedabad's Madhupura precinct. The project aims to integrate industrial heritage, green infrastructure, and community spaces to create cohesive, pedestrian-friendly pathways that enhance mobility and promote interaction. Central to the design is the integration of nature into the urban fabric, with lush greenery, shade-providing trees, and thoughtful landscaping elements enhancing aesthetic appeal, community interaction, and comfort. Keeping the community in mind, designated breakout spaces are proposed within the streetscape, offering workers opportunities to relax and recharge during their laborious schedules. The project highlights the precinct's industrial heritage through creative elements like old metal trusses adorned with climbing plants, symbolizing the transformation of the past into a green and sustainable future. This initiative also serves as a secondary entrance to the park, connecting it into a green corridor, and intertwining our industrial heritage with a lush, communal artery. Ultimately, "Gateway to Getaway" aims to establish Madhupura precinct as a vibrant gateway to a rejuvenating urban retreat, seamlessly weaving industry, nature, and human experience.
