The studio focused on comprehending both historic and modernist housing contexts in Surat, where in this project, making a case for repair over demolition was found needed. "Epoch Rejuvenation: Breathing Life into Communities" symbolizes a transformative endeavor aimed at revitalizing and uplifting neighborhoods. In the historic housing project at Zampa Bazar, a century-old residential building which underwent numerous changes over time, both structural and program change, was studied. Applying the concept of care to this building hence became particularly intriguing. Meanwhile, the modernist housing in Adajan, Surat, currently faces imminent demolition, underscoring the urgent need to advocate for repair instead.
