The study of the 1 km radius of my neighbourhood, along with speaking to stakeholders, made certain underlying issues present in the neighbourhood apparent. Trying to resolve these issues - namely urban flooding, water shortage, and the subjugation of street vendors - lead to the creation of interventions which have been scaled down and applied from the 3.14 sq.km area of the neighbourhood to the 1350 sq.m site plot. The project aims to provide a very different atmosphere to the residents, in comparison to the rest of the city, without altering the visual language of the residential building typology excessively.
