Reading landscapes

The idea of ‘landscape’ encompasses the natural world and how people view and value it. The landscape we see around us and live with can often inform and help us understand our emotions, community, and humanity. This may either be through its physical form or its various representations. For centuries, the landscape has been represented and absorbed into multiple forms of art and literature. This research aims to understand and explore the different ways in which landscape has been informed in literature and has informed literature. In an attempt to understand the same, the works of the Indian poet, writer, and lyricist Gulzar are looked at.
