The academic project “Sculpting Emotions” seeks to redefine the relationship between the ATIRA Campus wilderness and its human users, shifting the focus to the natural elements themselves. In this reversed dynamic, the trees and surroundings take center stage, showcasing themselves while humans observe and interact with them. The project starts by meticulously mapping the emotional essence of the space, aiming to understand and document the feelings evoked by the surroundings. This mapping process serves as the foundation for the subsequent design interventions. The core objective is to enhance and alter these existing emotional qualities, creating experiences that are deeply meaningful for those who interact with the space. Drawing on theories from land artists, the project aims to implement design interventions that transform the spaces into a dynamic and emotionally engaging landscape. These interventions may include sculptural elements, artistic installations, or alterations to the surroundings, all intended to evoke specific emotions and enhance the overall experience of the space.
