Aboris

Arboris is an architectural space deeply inspired by the wilderness of a nearby forest.. Its design captures the branching patterns of local trees, creating a structure that mirrors the forest's essence. The interplay between spaces reflects the dynamic relationship of branches, creating a visual and physical dialogue throughout the structure. Some of the key characters of the forest that are tried to capture are the visual and physical interaction between spaces as in between the branches, the sense of a common ground formed by the interconnection between space to space just like interconnected trees forming a long pathway for the monkeys and squirrels to run through, the sense of movement along the building also tries to capture the way these animals moves from branch to branch in different trees. Also the spatial organisation is designed based on a study of the branching pattern of the trees, forming double heights, triple heights or just a single height at certain places thus giving the play of heights as experienced in a forest. The enclosed spaces provided focus on the diffused light that is similar to the light bouncing through various layers of leaves. While one walks through the forest the kind of meandering pathways that are not well defined and the kind of light quality pouring in from small clearings are also tried to capture while one walks through under all the spaces in between settings developed from the foundation of columns similar to the undulations formed on the forest floor.
