Whenever we think of a historic battle, it leads us to the place where it was fought as the place being the only witness to it. This memorial commemorates the battle fought between 300 Maratha soldiers and 10,000 Adil Shahi forces where the Marathas killed almost 5000 Nizam troops holding the mountain pass of Pawankhind for more than 8 hours to ensure the safety of Shivaji Maharaj. The site being the main witness is keen to narrate the story. A story of belief and confidence. A story of fire and energy. A story of recognizing and accepting the death for the people of the 'Swarajya'. These elements through architecture, symbolize themselves to narrate the different aspects of the story.
