INTENT  Can a space make you feel absolutely present in the moment that is now? Can a space evoke a heightened sense of awareness about the present moment? The memorial is a journey where one experiences the passing of time which becomes a gateway to the ruins of Lothal.  SITE It is sited in the ruined civilisation of Lothal where one becomes curious and wondrous about the past. With time the rivers have meandered and all that remains now are the brick plinths and the dock. Lothal lies in the middle of a huge expanse of fields. The memorial is a gateway to the ruins where one is gradually withdrawn from this expanse and brought into the ruins.
