The Holy Concrete

Initially designed and proposed by Louis Kahn, Mikveh Israel Synagogue was supposed to be built in Philadelphia. This synagogue is an unbuilt project. Here, an attempt of relocating and redesigning the synagogue in Ahmedabad’s environment is made. The site is near the Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad. Focus is to detail out the structure and architectural experience of the respective building while keeping in mind the principles of Louis Kahn.
