Earth Art Gallery | Ahmedabad

Sir David Chipperfield’s work has been reinterpreted and envisioned in the context of Ahmedabad’s scorching heat. Situated along the Sabarmati Riverfront, this grounded mass of earth invites one to reflect on the past and appreciate the future. A parallel siting anchors the built to the site and exaggerates the existing movement. The humble expression of the rough surface texture of rammed earth articulates and brings life to a subtle softness in the exhibition space. Together, form, material and structure translate the project into one that is timeless, just as Chipperfield would have desired.
