Undertones of Architecture and Urban Change: Jamshedpur

Theorizing architectural production explored the relationship between architectural works and modes of representation over three modules. Module one was a reading seminar that engaged with the historiographic context of architectural production. In module two, we developed the biography of a building located in Jamshedpur by investigating the relationship between architectural representation, production and materiality through the medium of architectural drawings. The catalogue, 'Jamshedpur: A Palimpsest?' was curated as a part of module three, tracing architecture and urban change in Jamshedpur using Preeti Chopra's text - 'A Joint Enterprise: Indian Elites and the making of British Bombay' as a theoretical framework.
