Ascendium | An Ascent of Culture and Connection

Situated along Chharodi Lake near SG Highway, this project envisions a dynamic acrobatic arena that seamlessly integrates performance, training, and public engagement. Designed to accommodate over 1,000 spectators, the space operates at a regional scale, attracting audiences from Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and beyond. It is a hub for acrobatic performances, training sessions, and other dance events, fostering cultural and artistic expression. The design integrates ramps that wrap around the structure, transforming it into a dual-purpose space—a performance venue and an inclusive public realm. These ramps provide unique vantage points for viewing performances inside the arena while also framing views of the performance of the vibrant cityscape outside. The interplay of terraces and open spaces supports various informal activities, including workshops, pop-up stalls, and cafés, fostering a lively and engaging atmosphere. By activating Chharodi Lake as a public space, the project creates a seamless connection between the built environment and the natural setting, offering a holistic cultural and recreational experience. This arena aspires to become a landmark that celebrates movement, creativity, and community interaction, enriching the region's urban fabric.
