Material is Resource. Resource is Material. II

This project is also the research continuation of semester one works for material.
The relationship between the vendors and other stakeholders of the space like the homeless individual, travelers, police, and customers creates a medley of different things together. Understanding the value of the market and its relationship with the identity of the old city, the market economy and the homeless can be boosted if Premabhai Hall is included and utilized by putting it to use. This can be done by using Premabhai to give space and build a relationship between the two stakeholders (vendors and homeless) by providing a space for the vendors who make their products for sale, and can train people from the plaza to make and sell their products for them. Teaching homeless individuals and families skills and training them to earn their living is uplifting a societal change.

‘The question was can we really build something new alongside these monuments, and if so, what should be the nature of our design…?’- BV DoshiWhen Doshi answered this question, he designed large open spaces in the auditorium that could accommodate functions while addressing the monuments alongside. In our case, these large open spaces can now host a community that has been living in the monument vicinity and aid with retaining the identity of the space.
