The idea of an institution involves the attribution of different functions to a space - a visitor's centre, a learning and teaching unit and a residential space, where each space is demarcated by layers of accessibility - public, private and semi-private, each catering to different user experience. The above is achieved through a series of courtyards and forecourts, by manipulating the built spaces as walls around an open space.
