With Indian cities rapidly densifying, universities are usually its only large pockets of structured green. Its maintenance is an ever-present background to the university. Tons of dry organic detritus are transported from universities to landfills daily to be dumped or burned. What if the northern edge of the campus, ie the boundary wall was an acknowledgement of this process of maintenance? Just as the UC Archives is a consortium of the university neighbourhood’s shared history, the wall was developed into a consortium of the detritus swept up in the universities, binding the university neighbourhood together through the idea of maintenance.
