the first thing which comes to my mind is not to build anything over here, as their are so many buildings all around, and other hard paved sites, and traffic noises on the junction. so let their be an open place which acts as an urban void and lungs to the surrounding.Apart from SITE, the Need of SOFT GROUND is very high in ahmedabad as well as in South Bopal. Therefore an idea of developing Park emerged, with differnt functions working independently and sometimes inter-dependent to each other.
the entire idea of community to me is to gather crowd and invoking positive interaction among them, so the first thing comes to mind is food which helps gathering people, but that might not encourage people to interact. where the other part which i observed missing in sobo, is the informality (which is expression of people to any given situation), and art is what expresses ideas, while formulating a program, i believe to consider green covers as a crucial design decision and then integrating Art with it. their are various other functions which are needed for the community, and that has been provided, but the overarching idea remains to give an atmosphere of an Art park, which is developed, maintained, and runsby ahmedabad municipal, so the entire thing can be managed with very minimum rates for the users, and certain thing for free (amenities such as - park entry, art exhibitions, sculpturs, etc.)
