Weaving Habitats

This project proposes a regenerative landscape strategy to restore ecological connectivity and faunal habitat around the Govardhan Sagar Lake, where urban pressures have significantly fragmented natural systems over time. By reimagining the hard, impermeable edges of built structures as soft, ecologically active transitions, the design integrates native vegetation, wildlife corridors, and microhabitat zones that support bird nesting, roosting, feeding, and seasonal movement. Controlled public access areas, interpretive trails, viewing decks, and buffer zones ensure harmony between human activity and ecological function. The outcome is a biodiverse, resilient, and aesthetically enriched urban lakescape that fosters environmental awareness, community stewardship, and long-term natural regeneration.
