This project attempts to re-imagine the idea of “togetherness” in today’s technologically hyper-connected yet psychologically hyper-isolated society. In the world where we have become increasingly comfortable with virtual presence, physicality has reduced in importance. Togetherness attempts to re-establish the relevance of a neighbour, where they become witnesses to each others unfolding of life and learn to “live” from each others experiences. Imagining togetherness as a function of a space as well as a function of chance encounter between its users, the final iteration of the project tries to architecturally manifest it by questioning the existing configurations of current typical housing.
