Reaching the Khazans

The project aims to connect the fragmented Khazan Lands along the Nerul River through mobile interventions designed for the rapid construction and repair of bunds. By deploying these mobile units along with a central workshop equipped with essential tools and materials, the program ensures timely and efficient maintenance, minimizing environmental impact. These units also function as crucial transportation hubs, delivering raw materials for bund construction, packaging, and selling traditional salt and other commodities throughout the region. Additionally, bamboo salt production adds value to traditional salt harvesting and acts as a key financial engine for the initiative. Experimental efforts to reduce soil salinity are being carried out at quarantine grounds. These initiatives work together to restore connectivity, preserve traditional practices, and promote sustainable land management across the region.
