The Khazan landscape of Goa is a historically rich ecosystem shaped by intricate water management practices, now at risk due to changing land-use patterns and diminished water-based mobility. To address these challenges, the proposed boat-making and repair workshop aims to serve as a critical intervention to revitalize water transport, a key element of the Khazan system, while fostering local livelihoods and enhancing the movement of goods like fish-based fertilizers and Korgut rice. The intervention aims to strengthen the logistics of transporting value-added products such as bio-fertilizers and Korgut rice, ensuring connectivity between production units and markets.
